I don’t know why I went on such a hiatus from writing, it happens sometimes I guess, where you just don’t feel the excitement. Not to say the last few years haven’t been exciting, they most definitely have, but I just didn’t write.
Nolan and I have done SO much and more. Things have changed a lot, he has grown a lot, I don’t even know where to start or how to catch up the last few years. So, I decided, I will not do a huge update on the last few years, I will just do recap and go from here on out.
In 2019, I had a pretty fun summer. I went on a few road trips through B.C. with friends where I saw numerous hot springs, two amazing mountain passes, a ferry ride, incredible small town shops and more. A trip with my son to Nakusp (the Ferry ride was hilarious as he panicked big time) but that place was beautiful. Incredible hikes with friends and Nolan, the Ride to Conquer Cancer with my dad, what an experience, on so many different levels! It was a pretty fun year.
2020, the year of the pandemic. It was an interesting year to say the least. I am someone introverted and quite enjoy my alone time at home, but I also enjoy random conversations and interactions. 2020, I did a lot of biking and some running, walking and few hikes. Mostly biking though! Nolan got a big boy bike and we had a blast doing that together. We both joined Muay Thai later in the year, and I think we have found a new hobby, and we do it together! We enjoyed the outdoors as much as we could, because that is kind of all we could really do!
It is now June 11, 2021. We are in stage 2 of restrictions being lifted. It’s been a lot of back and forth this year. We got to stage 2 earlier in the year, but then in May, we got shut down, AGAIN. Nolan has been in and out of school, and I believe it has been pretty hard on him and his focusing. His schedules been a bit of a mess to say the least. He was in school, doing Muay Thai, he was in soccer, and then once again – all gone. Last weekend was his first soccer practice and Muay Thai class, and back in school for a few weeks now, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that this is going to stick! I have been running a lot this year, although I am currently sitting with a hip injury 😦 BUT, I am trying to be patient and let it heal. Nolan has become an all-star on his bike, so I can now run with him! It was hard in prior years, because the week I would have him, how would I run with him? It wasn’t like I could just do it when ever I wanted, and I didn’t have a stroller. He is now 7, and our adventures change all the time. He is an absolute blast, with a buttload of energy ha-ha. This kid, is the energizer bunny.
I am not sure what else to say about the past, but it’s been good, and we are going to keep on going that way! I will try to write a bit more, and post some photos of that last few years 🙂
Till next time!
